Since 1948, the Annie E. Casey Foundation (AECF) has worked to build better futures for disadvantaged children and their families in the United States. The Build Initiative is a multi-state partnership whose mission is to help each state build a coordinated system of programs, policies and services that respond to the needs of families, carefully use public and private resources and effectively prepare young children for a successful future.

The David and Lucile Packard Foundation
This foundation provides grants to nonprofit organizations in the following program areas: Conservation; Population; Science; Children, Families, and Communities; Arts; and Organizational Effectiveness and Philanthropy. The Foundation provides national and international grants, and has a special focus on Northern California.

National Council on Family Relations
The National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) provides a forum for family researchers, educators and practitioners to share in the development and dissemination of knowledge about families and family relationships, establishes professional standards, and works to promote family well-being.
National Economic Development and Law Center

The Ounce of Prevention Fund of Chicago invests in the healthy development of at-risk infants, toddlers and preschool children. It uses an innovative cycle of family-focused programs, research, training, policy analysis and advocacy to help young children succeed in school and throughout life.
Zero to Three
Zero to Three is a national, nonprofit organization located in Washington, D.C., dedicated solely to advancing the healthy development of babies and young children. Founded in 1977 by top developmental experts, Zero to Three disseminates key developmental information, trains providers, promotes model approaches and standards of practice, and works to increase public awareness about the significance of the first three years of life.
