Hosting a Diaper Drive is easy and is something anyone can do!

• It is a great way to teach children about giving, make it into a learning opportunity.
• Make it into a fun competition at your school (class that collects the most diapers gets a pizza party).
• Make it a fun competition at you place of business.
• Have a jeans Friday and those who donate to the drive get to wear jeans.

Just follow these steps below:

1. Think about what organizations you are connected with such as,schools, childcare centers, organizations, community centers, place of work, churches…..  Be creative! Ask guests to bring diapers to a birthday party, baby shower, wedding, or another event.
   • Once you have decided on a place, please let the Great Start Parent Coalition (616-632-1007 or gsparents@firststepskent.org) ) know about your drive and we will set you up with a food pantry as to where your diapers will go!!  We will provide you with a container to collect the diapers or spare change and provide you with promotional material (see below also).
2. Set a goal, have fun with this also!
   • Create a chart to track your progress
   • Set a goal to stuff the office or company car
   • Stuff the boss’s office (or someones) so they can’t event get through the door
   • Build a structure using your collected diapers
   • Host a kick-off event to advertise your drive and goals
   • Have a raffle for people who donate
3. Start advertising for your diaper drive.
   • Post Diaper Drive Flyers, Spare Change for a Diaper Change Flyers
   • Send emails
   • Include the drive in newsletters
   • Post it on facebook
   • Tweet about it
   • Send facts about the diaper need daily, Diaper Drive Fact Sheet
   • Post the Diaper Drive Facts around around your drive site (in the bathrooms, hallways, breakrooms…)
   • Use a diaper cake to advertise for your drive.
   • Pass out postcards
4. Start collecting diapers!!
   • Use a playpen to collect diapers
   • Decorate a big box with Diaper Drive Fact Sheet and Diaper Drive Flyer or wrapping paper to collect diapers
   • Collect Spare Change for a Diaper Change
   • Have fun, Ideas to make your Diaper Drive FUN and SUCCESSFUL – churches, Fun Ideas To Host Your Own Diaper Drive – businesses
5. Let the Great Start Parent Coalition know how you are doing, 616-632-1007 or gsparents@firststepskent.org
   • Take pictures/video of your event and email them to us to share on our website and facebook page!
