Great Start Parent Coalition
Parents are their children’s first—and most influential—teachers! And they play an active role in the work of First Steps and the Great Start Collaborative of Kent County.
The Great Start Parent Coalition is made up of committed parents from all over the county who want to ensure a GREAT START for their own children and all children in the community.
Public Television Video Vignettes
Attention parents and caregivers: Would you like simple, useful tips about how to turn everyday activities into great learning experiences for young children? Check out these one-minute video clips about early childhood development. Thanks to ECIC, Detroit Public Television and United Way for Southeastern Michigan for producing these videos.
The Coalition’s mission is to increase parents’ skills, knowledge, and participation in early childhood planning and decision making in the community.
The Coalition is always looking for new members. It is open to any parent or caregiver of children under the age of 12 in Kent County. Please join us!
