Great Start is currently seeking applications for a Great Start Parent Coalition Lead Parent Liaison.

Lead Parent Liaison.  This position works with the Great Start Director to support parent members of the Great Start Collaborative.  The lead parent liaison mentors and recruits other parents in the community to become involved with Great Start and is responsible for coordinating the advocacy work between parents and elected officials.  It is important that the lead parent liaison represents a diverse group of parents in Kent County.  Applicants must be a parent of a child under the age of 12 in Kent County.  Strong communication skills and availability to work in the Great Start offices approximately two days a week are required.  Interested parties may apply by filling out the application and sending a cover letter and current resume to:  srex@hwmuw.org.

First Steps is currently seeking applications for the Welcome Home Baby program.

Maternal Child Care Nurse. This position has the responsibility for the physical and psychosocial assessment of mothers and their babies within 3-5 days of the newborn’s birth. The Maternal Child Care Nurse will be responsible for identifying referral needs of a diverse population and assuring that proper follow-up occurs. This position requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and recent post-partum experience.  Two years of community health work is preferred. Bilingual, Spanish is a plus.
